Stephen Farnsworth, professor of political science and director of the University’s Center for Leadership and Media Studies, recently gave a National Security Lecture entitled, “The Global President: International Media and the U.S. Government,” to foreign and military policy professionals at UMW’s Dahlgren Campus. The talk was drawn from Farnsworth’s new book examining international news coverage of the U.S. government during the George W. Bush and Barack Obama presidencies.
In addition, Farnsworth recently moderated a panel of five area legislators who discussed policy issues facing the 2014 session of the Virginia General Assembly. The panel was sponsored by Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.
