It is with great sadness that we report the death of one of our employees, Bruce Patton, who passed away Saturday, May 2 at the age of 59. Patton is the husband of Lisa Patton, office manager in the Department of History and American Studies, and father of Corey Patton, electrician in Facilities Services.
Patton had served the university as a support service manager in Facilities Services for 28 years. According to his obituary from the Covenant Funeral Service, Bruce was an avid drummer, played horseshoes competitively and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 10 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, O.K. 73123-1718.
