Dear Colleagues,
I want to thank everyone here in the UMW community for the warm welcome you have extended to me and my family over the past couple of weeks. I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet a number of faculty, staff, and students here on campus and at various events in the Fredericksburg area. I look forward to meeting many more in the coming weeks and months.
I am writing at this time to invite all UMW faculty and staff to attend an “All UMW Opening Assembly” on Wednesday, August 17. As we approach the beginning of a new academic year, I’d like for us to gather together in celebration of our shared commitment to this community and to look forward to the year ahead. The assembly will be held in Dodd Auditorium in George Washington Hall, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be available in the foyer at 8:00 a.m. I expect that we will conclude no later than 9:30.
I hope that this assembly will become a regular annual feature of our work together at UMW. I look forward to seeing you on August 17 and to an exciting new academic year.
