Hall Cheshire Named UMW Chief Information Officer

The following message is from the Vice President for Administration and Finance:

I am very pleased to announce that Hall Cheshire has been appointed to serve as the University of Mary Washington’s Chief Information Officer.  Mr. Cheshire has been part of the UMW Team since 2009 serving as Executive Director for IT Infrastructure and for the past three and one half years as Interim Chief Information Officer as well.  In this capacity he has successfully stewarded IT’s principle services by providing direction in the strategic use of information technology.  This has resulted in improved business processes, the development and implementation of a long term architectural direction for the University’s IT infrastructure, an updated UMW IT Strategic Plan, collaboration with other technology centers such as DTLT, and the establishment and leadership of the University Portfolio Management Committee.  In addition, Mr. Cheshire provided leadership and expertise in the planning of the HCC Data Center as well as several other capital projects.   We look forward to his continuing contributions and leadership in this new role.

Please join me in congratulating Mr. Cheshire on his appointment.

Rick Pearce
