Faculty/Staff Dining Room Opens in Chandler Ballroom, Sept. 19

The following message is from the Vice President of Administration and Finance:

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that a new Faculty/Staff Dining Room will open on Monday, Sept. 19, in the University Center.  The location will be in a section of the Chandler Ballroom, located on the first floor of the building. The hours of operation will be 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The regular lunch cost will remain $6 for faculty and staff.

I hope that this space will promote faculty and staff camaraderie and foster the sense of community that is such an important attribute of Mary Washington. Food service will be buffet-style, initially served using chafing dishes on tables. Eventually the room will feature mobile buffet units, which are being ordered but will take up to 10 weeks to be delivered.

Please note that there will be a few times during the year when the entire ballroom will be needed for a major University event.  The Faculty/Staff Dining Room will not be available on the following dates: Sept. 22 (Graduate School Fair); Sept. 27 (COAA VA Conference); Oct. 4 (Catering Showcase); and Oct. 7 (rain location for Rocktoberfest).

Due to the need to maintain access control, those who choose to eat in the Faculty/Staff Dining Room may not also utilize the fourth floor dining area options or bring food items from one dining area of the building to another.
