Nov. 1 Conference on Dementia: Supporting the Caregiver

UMW’s BSN Completion Program is hosting a conference titled “Dementia: Supporting the Caregiver” on Tuesday, Nov. 1, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Gates-Hudson Building, UMW Stafford Campus.

The conference is aimed at both family member caregivers and professional caregivers. The keynote speaker will be UMW alum Rachael Wonderlin (’11). She is the author of “When Someone You Know is Living in a Dementia Care Community: Words to Say and Things to Do,” due to be released on Oct. 9, 2016.

Rachael Wonderlin is a gerontologist, dementia care expert and popular dementia care blogger who helps caregivers cope with the difficult behaviors, emotions and anxieties that they and their loved one may experience. She will be available for book signing during the conference.

Registration is limited to 90 participants. You can register at http://cas.umw.edu/nursing. The conference is offered at no charge to UMW staff and faculty.
