Residence Hall Closing and Extended Stay Information

The end of the semester is upon us and students will soon be moving out of the residence halls (see information at https://www.umw.edu/closing).

The deadline for providing names of residential students sponsored by your department to remain after residence hall closing on Saturday, May 2 at 10 a.m. is swiftly approaching.  (Note:  graduating students are permitted to stay until Sunday, May 10 at 10 a.m.)

Information regarding the University’s extended stay housing process can be found here. Please refer to the information listed under Sponsored students (for UMW department sponsorship submission).  Sponsors must email their completed spreadsheet as soon as possible, and no later than April 28.

Sponsored Spring Break Housing Information

Spring Break begins and the student residences close at 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb.27. Residences open at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 8. Break housing sponsor spreadsheets are due Friday, Feb. 20 at noon.

Departments or student groups sponsoring students for an academic, extracurricular, or athletic event requiring a stay in University-owned housing during a break should submit a request for the sponsored students.  Click here for the Sponsored Break Housing submission template. Sponsored Thanksgiving and Winter Break Housing Information

Thanksgiving Break begins and the student residences close at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26. Residences open at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 30. Break housing sponsor spreadsheets are due Friday, Nov. 21 at noon.

Winter Break begins and the student residences close at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. Residences open at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11. Break housing sponsor spreadsheets are due Friday, Dec. 5 at noon.
