As a token of his appreciation for the continued hard work and dedication of state employees in their service to the citizens of the Commonwealth, Gov. Robert McDonnell has approved an additional eight hours of leave during the holiday season.

- Winter break begins Wednesday, Dec. 22 through Thursday, Dec, 30
- New Year’s Day is observed Friday, Dec. 31
