Calling all volunteers! As you have heard, state employees will have their own Fan Zone on the Madison building plaza in downtown Richmond during the UCI Road World Championships, from Monday, September 21- Friday, September 25.
There are plenty of volunteer opportunities at the Employee Zone from Monday- Friday, from helping with entertainment, to setting up tents, chairs, signs and balloons, to hosting tables and helping agencies sell food on Thursday. A portion of the net proceeds from food truck sales and all of the agency food sales will benefit the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC).
You will be able to use your special race volunteer leave (up to 16 hours of work time) to help out, as long as your supervisor approves. The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) will provide agencies the necessary documentation of volunteer hours worked. DHRM can also supply parking passes if needed.
