Once again this year, Wagner Wealth Management of Davenport & Company LLC. will sponsor the monthly UMW Student-Athlete of the Month. The October winner is senior field hockey star Jenna Steele.
Steele, a senior from Rehoboth Beach, Del., had a month to remember for the 11th ranked Eagles. She broke the UMW career records for points and goals during the Eagles’ nine contests during the month, scoring 13 goals and adding two assists.
Steele capped her month with a four-goal effort on Wednesday against Frostburg State University, and started the month with four goals at York College in a key win that propelled the Eagles into their current first place standing in the conference standings.
She has 23 goals and four assists on the season, and ranks 12th in the nation in goals per game.
