We Can Help West Virginia Flood Victims

To the UMW Community:

As you have probably seen in the news, our neighbors in West Virginia have been affected in horrific ways by devastating floods<http://www.wearewvproud.com/category/315538/pray-for-west-virginia-flood-disaster-2016> over the past week.  For at least one of our UMW colleagues, the impact has been personal. Angela Lilly, director of Training, Evaluation and System Support (TESS), is from the affected area. As she put it, “my friends, family and community of 30 years have lost everything they owned. And they are the fortunate ones, as sadly the death toll continues to rise.”

floodOver the next week, Angie will be making several trips back to her home in southern West Virginia to work and offer assistance. If anyone would like to make a donation towards the cleanup and restoration, she has indicated a willingness to coordinate those efforts. If you would like to help in some way, please email Angie at alilly2@umw.edu<mailto:alilly2@umw.edu>.

There are also numerous donation sites. We recommend this one through the Red Cross: http://www.redcross.org/donations/ways-to-donate.  If you would like to donate to one of the hardest hit areas, you can designate your donation to WV Flood Victims-Greenbrier County.

Angie extends sincere gratitude for support from the campus community during this time of heartache and loss.
