Two area schools have fresh new spaces, thanks to UMW staff members who participated in last week’s Day of Action.

The worldwide United Way initiative aims to recruit volunteers to complete needed improvements to enhance the quality of life throughout communities.
Members of various departments across the University painted playground space at Stafford County’s Hartwood Elementary School and spruced up a donation area at King George High School.

“We encourage our students to be part of the Fredericksburg community through events and service but it’s important to show that the employees are invested too,” said UMW Director of Service Christina Eggenberger, who coordinates UMW’s involvement with the local effort, hosted by Rappahannock United Way.
