Of course, any official announcements that have a critical impact on faculty and staff can be sent by broadcast email. Under the UMW broadcast email policy, those messages are directed to all employees and speak on behalf of the entire institution or directly affect the employee’s job performance. The messages must be reviewed and approved in advance by the President’s Cabinet member who oversees the office generating the message. The Cabinet member then sends the notice to the Office of University Relations for distribution to all employees.
