The American Institute of Architects Virginia Society will recognize Meta Braymer, vice president for economic development and regional engagement, with honorary membership. The AIA will present the honor at the Visions for Architecture gala on November 4 in Richmond.
According to the AIA website, “honorary membership may be bestowed upon individuals not eligible for membership in the Society, but who have rendered distinguished and exemplary service, over a sustained period of time, to architecture and the built environment in Virginia.”

This distinction is long over due for Dr. Braymer. She has served the University, community and region for over 20 years. We joined the University the same year. I wish her well in her new capacity as Vice-President for Economic Development and Regional Engagement.
