On Friday, June 29, the Virginia Governor’s Office announced the appointment of Tara C. Corrigall, Dr. Theresa Young Crawley and Mark S. Ingrao to the Board of Visitors at the University of Mary Washington. The new board members will serve four-year terms, which expire June 30, 2016. They succeed Patricia B. Revere, Randall R. Eley and Martha K. Leighty, whose terms ended June 30.
Tara C. Corrigall, Virginia Beach

Ms. Corrigall, who graduated from Mary Washington in 1982, is a financial advisor and director of advisory and brokerage services at the Virginia Beach branch of UBS (formerly PaineWebber). She held a similar position in Nashville prior to her move to Virginia Beach in 2008. Previously, Corrigall was an assistant branch manager in Atlanta. She is a Certified Investment Management Analyst and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Central Business District Association of Virginia Beach and of the Board of Directors of the YWCA of South Hampton Roads.
Ms. Corrigall served on the Mary Washington Alumni Board from 1992 through 2000, including a term as president from 1998 to 2000. She is also class news agent for the Class of 1982 and a longtime President’s Council donor. In addition, Ms. Corrigall served as first chair of the UMW President’s Council, and she continues to serve on the committee.
Theresa Young Crawley, Fredericksburg

A dentist and engaged member of the Fredericksburg community, Mrs. Crawley has been actively involved in her alma mater since she graduated in 1977. As president of the Mary Washington College Alumni Association from 1996 to 1998, she was instrumental in the establishment of both the Washington Scholars Program and the Distinguished Graduate in Residence Program. Along with her husband, William B. Crawley Jr., professor of history emeritus, she served as national co-chair for UMW’s $75 million Centennial Capital Campaign, successfully concluded in 2008. Two years earlier, the couple was awarded an exclusive honor: Washington Medallions, for their “extraordinary accomplishments, generosity and service” to UMW.
Currently, Mrs. Crawley serves as secretary to the UMW Foundation Board. In addition to mentoring and entertaining many students, she and her husband sponsored a UMW student through the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women. Mrs. Crawley is a regular fixture at lectures in the Chappell Great Lives Lecture Series, which her husband coordinates. She is an avid volunteer with many community organizations and is the sole proprietor of an established dental practice.
Mark Ingrao, Falls Church

Mr. Ingrao, a 1981 Mary Washington alumnus, is president and CEO of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce. His previous positions include vice president of government affairs for the National Apartment Association; vice president of government affairs for the Apartment and Office Building Association; an associate with the executive recruiting firm of Heidrick & Struggles; manager of recruitment for the National Business Development Practice of Arthur Andersen, LLP; and various positions at Washington Gas, including public affairs area manager and manager of compensation.
When he’s not working his “day job,” Mr. Ingrao pursues a passion he inherited from his father: helping out at Washington Redskins home games by moving the chains that signify downs. Ingrao is past chairman of the Board of Regents for Leadership Arlington and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, and is currently on Leadership Arlington’s board. Additionally, he serves or has served on various boards including John Marshall Bank’s Arlington Advisory Board, the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance, Arlington Free Clinic and the Virginia Public Access Project. He is a Certified Compensation Professional and a Certified Association Executive. He served as a co-coordinator for the class of 1981’s 25- and 30-year reunions.
