Access to New Cancer Drugs Lecture, Oct. 16

James Packard Love, who runs a non-governmental organization in D.C. called Knowledge Ecology International will speak on “Access to New Cancer Drugs:  the United States vs. poor cancer patients around the world” on October 16, 2013 at 4 p.m. in Monroe 346.

James Packard Love is the Director of Knowledge Ecology International (KEI). He is also the U.S. co-chair of the Trans-Atlantic Consumer Dialogue (TACD) Intellectual Property Policy Committee, and the chair of the Essential Inventions board of directors. He advises UN agencies, national governments, international and regional intergovernmental organizations and public health NGOs, and is the author of a number of articles and monographs on innovation and intellectual property rights. He was recently honored with a Pioneer Award by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. KEI’s main work is in topics “relating to innovation and access to medical technologies, and those relating to more general topics of access to knowledge.”
