University Advancement announces Mary Washington First Campaign gifts and pledge commitments:
- Alumni, parents, and friends pledged a total of $218,576 during the Fall Phonathon to support the Mary Washington First Campaign.
- An alumna from the Class of 1966 made a $100,000 pledge to support the Literacy Learning Lab in the College of Education.
- An alumna from the Class of 1969 sent in a $1,000 check for the restoration of the Amphitheater. With this gift, the total raised toward the $3 million Amphitheater goal is now at $1.5 million.
- An alumna from the Class of 1981 made a $1,250 online gift to the Fund for Mary Washington. She included a note indicating her gift was a result of meeting President Hurley at a Mary Washington First Campaign event in California.
The $50-million Mary Washington First Campaign began July 1, 2011, and went public April 26, 2014. As of October 31, 2014, Mary Washington alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and businesses have committed more than $32 million in gifts and pledges.
