Former Faculty Member John H. Reynolds Dies

John H. Reynolds died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, after a long illness.

In 1981, John joined the faculty of Mary Washington College for a one-year assignment sponsored by the Dahlgren Laboratory under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act. The temporary assignment proved so beneficial to MWC that the college persuaded him to make his position permanent. He not only helped to design the program for a major in Computer Science but from 1993 to 1997 served as Chair of the Department of Computer Science and as System Administrator for the department’s Hewlett-Packard network and UNIX operating system. Upon his retirement from Mary Washington in 2004, he received status of Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and also received during graduation the Grellet C. Simpson Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 27, at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church.
