Congratulations to the University Recognition Award winners who were announced at Tuesday’s Employee Luncheon.
Rita Dunston received the Richard V. and Rosemary A. Hurley Presidential Commendation Award. Nominees were Christina Eggenberger, Heidi Hunter-Goldsworthy, Marty Morrison, Clint Often and Sabrina Johnson.
The intent of this award is to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hurley, who have consistently demonstrated a desire to recognize and reward outstanding service of University employees, and who have led by example in their work at Mary Washington.
Charlotte Corbett-Parker received the Charles Coleman Memorial Service Award. Nominees were Cindy Toomey, Cindy Fitch, Jane Cariker, Doug Noble and Virginia Irvin.
Charles Coleman was an employee of 29 years who demonstrated pride, dedication and loyalty throughout his many years of service. This award was established in honor of his memory and exemplary service.
Cindy Toomey, Michael Morley and Melissa Yakabouski were selected as this year’s Larry Atkins Award winners. Other nominees were Marta Smith, DiShante Fryer, Martha Link, David Dean, Tracey Funtanilla, Caitlin DeMarco, Tameka Brown, Ronald McKiver, Ann Witkowski, Amanda Rutstein and Dan Quann.
The Larry Atkins award recognizes UMW employees who are unsung heroes in our offices, lend a helping hand to their teammates, go above and beyond in each and every task, and set a positive example for others.
