Cox Becomes Vice Provost at UNC-Chapel Hill

Dr. Leah Cox, who served as UMW’s special assistant to the president for diversity and inclusion, was recently named vice provost for equity and inclusion and chief diversity officer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A UMW employee for 15 years, Cox also held the roles of Title IX coordinator and ombudsman for the campus, and oversaw the Student Transition Program, the Rappahannock Scholars Program and the James Farmer Scholars Program before leaving UMW in 2017 to become the inaugural vice president for inclusion and institutional equity at Towson University. Congratulations, Dr. Cox!
