Research and Creativity Day, April 21

The UMW Undergraduate Student Research and Creativity Symposium recognizes the excellence of undergraduate research at UMW thanks to the expert guidance of our faculty mentors. Students and faculty have been working together throughout this year on their research and creative projects, and we want to take the time to share them and celebrate them.

Learn more about the event on the Research and Creativity Symposium webpage.

On the last day of classes for the spring semester – April 21, 2023 – students and faculty will gather in the Hurley Convergence Center, as well as in other spaces across campus, to present the results of their scholarly research and creative endeavors over the past academic year.

We invite everyone — students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and other university friends — to browse the presentations published on this website to see student projects and performances from across the university. We hope you will not only take a look, but also take the time to comment directly to the various projects by our students with your questions and words of encouragement to recognize and celebrate their hard work and achievements! Comment on projects at umwrcd.net until midnight, May 1, 2023.

All are also welcomed to attend the in-person events on campus on the 21st.

Congratulations and thank you to all our student presenters and their faculty mentors for their accomplishments!

A special thanks to Jerry Slezak, Shannon Hauser, and Cartland Berge from UMW Digital Learning Support; Carolyn Parsons and Angie Kemp of UMW Simpson Library; Alec Mallman (Student Activities); and AJ Newell and Maria Schultz of UMW Design Services) for their support of this Research and Creativity Day.
