Welcome, new and returning students, faculty and staff! Our entire University Dining team is eagerly looking forward to providing all of you with exceptional dining experiences in the coming year. Please take a few minutes to review these great “Dining Tips” before you come to campus in August. You’ll find them to be a huge help in knowing when and where you can dine prior to the first day of classes, where to find free snacks and win prizes, and lots of other insider tips, too! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to e-mail us or give us a call at 540-654-2169. We’ll be happy to assist you!

When Do Meal Plans Start? All meal plans go active at 5pm on Saturday, August 26th. As of that time, all students will need to present their EagleOne ID cards to a dining cashier if they want to use their meal plan or EagleOne account to pay for their meal.
How Do Early Arrival Students Get Meals? Prior to the activation of meal plans, new students and other approved “early arrival” students will have meals covered by the sponsoring University department. All meals will be served at the Top of the CRUC. New students will get guidance from their Orientation Leaders about how and when to dine. Coaches, department and group leaders will give dining guidance to their early arrival students.
Are Meals Available to Faculty & Staff or Others Prior to August 26th? Yes, the Top of the CRUC is open to everyone during our published serving times. Payment will need to be made with credit cards or EagleOne.
What Happens if My Meal Plan Card Doesn’t Work? Don’t worry! Our dining cashier will write down your card number and you’ll be allowed to come in and eat. You may then contact the Office of Student Accounts (540- 654-1250 or UMWBills@umw.edu) or the Assistant Dean of Students Chris Porter (540-654-1659 or cjporter@umw.edu) for assistance in getting your card properly activated.
How Can I Get Help with Food Allergy or Dietary Restriction Questions? Contact our Dining Concierge, Rose Benedict at 540-654-2169; e-mail her at rbenedic@umw.edu; visit the Dining Welcome Center (see left side bar); or stop by the Dining Concierge desk weekdays from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on the 2nd floor of the CRUC. You can also speak with any one of our chefs or managers when you are in the Restaurants at the Top of the CRUC.
Just Ask! Everyone on our team will be glad to assist you, and they’ll be wearing red “Just Ask” buttons to help you identify them as members of our Dining Team. If you have questions or need help, don’t be shy! Just Ask!
