Singh Expands Environmental Writing, Community Engagement

Associate Professor of Political Science and International Affairs Ranjit Singh has served as environmental columnist for the FXBG Advance since May, publishing more than a dozen essays on local nature and environmental issues. His work includes two pieces on data center development co-authored with Professor of Sociology Eric Bonds: “The Corporate Environmental Blame Game” and “Moratorium Now! Time to Put the Brakes on New Data Center Development.” 

Singh moderated a panel discussion in August on data center development in the region, organized by the Rappahannock Group of the Sierra Club, the Fredericksburg Neighborhood Coalition and the Climate Reality Project.  He also publishes No Lines in Nature, a substack newsletter that regularly appears among the platform’s “rising” newsletters in the climate and environment category. He continues to serve on Stafford County’s Wetlands, Chesapeake Bay and Coastal Sand Dunes boards.
