Johnson-Young and Goldman Publish Co-Edited Book on Collaborative and Experiential Learning in Communication

Associate Professor of Communication Elizabeth Johnson-Young, who is also Associate Director of UMW’s Center for Teaching, and Associate Professor of Communication Adria Goldman, who is also Director of UMW’s Speaking Intensive Program, along with their external colleague Alexis Walker, have co-edited a new pedagogical handbook published with Peter Lang.

The 136-page handbook, titled Collaborative Team-Based and Experiential Learning: A Path to Student Innovation in Communication, equips educators with innovative teaching strategies to enhance community engagement and student collaboration in communication classrooms. Each chapter offers research-grounded, step-by-step instructions for communication activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving through real-world applications.
