Sipe to Give Mary Talk on Cancer Cell Research
Assistant Professor of Biology Laura Sipe will give a Mary Talk on Wednesday, Oct. 14 online from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. In a presentation titled, “Starving Cancer Cells to Help the Immune System Fight Back,” Sipe will discuss how she and undergraduate researchers at UMW are investigating whether metabolically starving cancer cells can make them more likely to die in ways that activate an immune response, opening new possibilities for cancer treatment.
