Rao Leads AI Session for Fredericksburg Chamber

Professor of Communication and Digital Studies and Founding Director of the Center for AI and the Liberal Arts Anand Rao led the Technology & AI Tools session for the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural ChamberWorks Business Academy cohort on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
Through hands-on exercises and group discussion, Rao challenged area business leaders to move beyond using AI to complete routine tasks faster and instead to rethink their workflows, ask better questions, and identify opportunities they had not previously considered. The session also addressed security, accuracy, and the role of human oversight in AI-assisted work.
“If you just have it act the same way you did, then you’ve really limited the capabilities of what that work could be,” Rao told participants.
The ChamberWorks Business Academy is a professional development program for the region’s business community, sponsored by SimVentions and Shore United Bank.
