New Website Training Starting

Wordpress LogoIn case you’ve been under a rock, the UMW website will be moving to WordPress as of October 7. Department website administrators now in Contribute may sign up for classes in how to migrate their Contribute content to the new environment. You will have plenty of time to make the switch.

Initial training will concentrate on structure and accuracy of content, as well as updated links.

Subsequent online and in-person training will devote time to layout, look and feel, using the new UMW designs, and WordPress widgety goodness, to make your site spiffier than ever.

If you are a current department site administrator and would like to sign up for training, please visit the training calendar at:

New IT Equipment/Software Ordering Process

A new process is underway to streamline IT purchases for campus departments. A form to initiate technology purchases now resides on the purchasing website:  http://www.umw.edu/purchasing/it/default.php.

The form divides purchases into three classifications (Buy Your Own; Standard; Non-Standard) and allows departmental buyers to submit orders for standard items, which will be procured through eVA on behalf of the buyer. See details on the website for more information.

This new process has been previously communicated to all SPCC cardholders.  If you encounter any problems with the standard form, please email K. C. McCullough @ kmccullo@umw.edu. If you have problems or questions regarding the non-standard process, questions may be directed to the Help Desk at helpdesk@umw.edu.
