Charles Sharpless, Associate Professor of Chemistry, will present the results of his Jepson Fellowship research in a talk titled “Organic Matter Photochemistry: Singlet Oxygen Precursor Lifetimes” at the 2011 Goldschmidt Conference in Prague, Czech Republic, August 14-19. The Goldschmidt Conference is the annual joint conference of the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry.

rken, associate professor and chair of history and American studies, will lead a reading and discussion series “Let’s Talk About It: Making Sense of the American Civil War” at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library headquarters on five Thursday evenings from November 2011 through April 2012.
The series is funded through a highly competitive grant given to the library from the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Read more.
