Associate Professor of Psychology Holly Schiffrin’s paper “Online Self-Disclosure Behaviors” appears as a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Cyber Behavior (2012). Schiffrin co-authored the chapter with her former student, Melissa Falkenstern.
Surupa Gupta, assistant professor of political science and international affairs, presented two articles titled “Democracy-enhancing Multilateralism: Developing Country Perspectives” and “Strategic thinking and a new foreign economic policy in India” at the recently concluded annual meeting of the International Studies Association. This international conference was held in San Diego, Calif., from Sunday, April 1 through Wednesday, April 4.

Douglas Sanford, professor within the Department of Historic Preservation, recently published an article entitled “Investigating the Slave Building at Walnut Valley Plantation, Surry County, Virginia” in the Archeological Society of Virginia’s Quarterly Bulletin. In addition, Sanford recently presented a paper entitled “Antebellum Urban Slavery in Virginia: A Comparative Perspective” at the 2012 Virginia Forum in Harrisonburg.
