Student Housing Selection Information
The next five weeks will be an exciting time for students as they contemplate housing and roommate options for the 2014-2015 academic year.
- Rising juniors and seniors will decide whether to live on campus for another year or to move off campus into the Fredericksburg community.
- Rising sophomores will decide which residence hall best meets their needs and whether to go through an administrative process or go through general housing selection on either March 15 or 22.
- All will be deciding with whom to live.
New this year, a group of four current students consisting of two females and two males may choose to live together in one Eagle Landing apartment (the females in one double room, and the males in the other double room). Students have received information regarding the housing selection process and important deadlines. At no time will a student be asked to miss class for the process. In fact, the in-person selection days have moved to Saturdays. Students needing to miss their appointment may still send a proxy to select their housing.
If you encounter students with questions or who are experiencing anxiety regarding their housing options, please direct them to the Office of Residence Life and Commuter Student Services in Marye House, where staff can assist them. For details regarding housing selection options and dates, please visit www.umw.edu/housingselection. Your support helps to make this process a positive experience for students, and one which enhances their academic experience.
