Notice to all UMW Blogs Users,

On August 12th, UMW Blogs will be unavailable as we move the system to a new server. Over the past few years, UMW Blogs has seen a tremendous amount of growth and currently serves over 7,500 individual sites. This growth has not come without growing pains as users have noted unexpected downtime during peak usage. This transition will allow us to continue to grow steadily as well as sustain a higher amount of traffic for years to come.

We don’t expect this migration to last more than 24 hours and all sites, accounts, and data will be migrated. Any sites using custom domains (ie. mypersonaldomain.com instead of mysite.umwblogs.org) will need to update their DNS records to reflect the IP address of the new server once the migration is complete. The Division of Teaching and Learning Technologies will be reaching out to those individuals with mapped domains directly with that information.

Once the migration is complete, any problems should be reported to the UMW Help Desk at helpdesk@umw.edu, by phone at 540-654-2255, or in person at George Washington Hall, Room 027.
