Dear Faculty and Staff
After thoughtful consideration and evaluation of the service needs of students and faculty, the university is designing a new single unit devoted to student success. This will be accomplished by merging our current offices of career services and academic services into one integrated department. It is our goal to have student and career counseling, as well as the development of other needs such as student retention and internship development, take place under one roof and managed as one department in a manner that optimizes the talent and work of our staffs.
In the near future a search for a director of the new department will take place. In the meantime, Associate Provost Fred Pierce will oversee the restructuring of the two departments. I look forward to his leadership of this important endeavor. As the process develops, you will hear more of the exciting changes taking place in our delivery of academic and career services.
