The following message is from the Office of University Relations:

While the University is striving to minimize disruptions for the campus community as a result of First Lady Michelle Obama’s visit to the Anderson Center on Thursday, Sept. 13, for a campaign event, there will be certain parking and pedestrian restrictions.

·         The Anderson Center parking lot will be closed from midnight Wednesday, Sept. 12, through 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13.

·         Parking on the top floor of the Parking Deck at Alvey Drive will be limited to handicapped only from midnight Wednesday, Sept. 12, until 6 p.m. Thursday.

·         The Jepson Science Center parking lot will be open for faculty/staff parking all day, but that area will also serve as drop-off location for handicapped event attendees.

·         A designated parking area in the Eagle Village lot will be available for use by visitors during the event.

·         The Eagle Landing balcony will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13.

·         The pedestrian bridge will remain open, but pedestrian traffic will be routed to the left of the Anderson Center behind Goolrick Hall near Alvey Drive. For walking between the Fredericksburg campus and Eagle Village, please consider using the crosswalk at the intersection of College Avenue and U.S. 1.
