Recognition Bonuses for Certifications, Licenses, and Degrees: Deadline Extended till February 10, 2014

Friday, January 31,  2014 deadline for CLD Bonus Submissions has been extended to February 10, 2014

 

RECOGNITION BONUSES FOR CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND DEGREES (CLDs) are awarded to administrative faculty, non-probationary classified and wage employees with 12 months of continuous employment with UMW who have recently earned a certification, license or degree.

To see if you or one or more of your employees qualify and to process the request, follow the steps below.

  1. Determine if the certification, license or degree was earned between the designated dates (see chart below) and meets the program guidelines outlined at the following link: http://adminfinance.umw.edu/hr/employee-relations/employee-recognition/cld-policy/

 

Submission   Deadline Qualification   Period
January 31, 2014Extended   to February 10, 2014 July 1, 2013 –   December 31, 2013

 

  1. Complete the Recognition Award Notice and include the required documentation listed below (must be attached for submissions to be considered.)

Ø  Certifications – Copy of the certification and attached Certification Checklist along with supporting documentation that shows how the earned certification meets the criteria (certification description/requirements, exam results, etc)

Ø  Degrees – Official or unofficial transcripts

Ø  Licenses – Copy of the license

  1. Obtain the necessary approvals. The approval structure was set up so that supervisors and the Cabinet Vice President in each area can approve/disapprove bonuses in a consistent manner for their area. Supervisors and Cabinet Vice Presidents (or designees) should utilize the checklist as well as the guidance provided on the CLD website to determine whether the bonus request meets the required qualifications.

 

  1. Submit the required documentation to Human Resources by February 10, 2014.  Completed Recognition Award Notice with attached documentation and all required signatures should be submitted to Jennifer Cooper in the Office of Human Resources/Fairfax House by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014. 

Bonus issuance is contingent on budget availability. All approved bonuses will be issued to the employee within 30 days of approval.
