Help Needed for New Student Orientation

UMW Colleagues,

There are only eleven days left until the students and their guests arrive on campus for New Student Orientation!  We are very excited about the upcoming class and look forward to helping them acclimate to life at Mary Washington.  Orientation is a critical step as they learn more about our campus, services, and people that will guide them toward academic success and a great experience of learning and discovery.

There is a place for you to participate in New Student Orientation and to help our new students and their guests begin their UMW experience.  I am reaching out to all faculty and staff to encourage those who are able to volunteer and meet our new students and their guests.

We are excited to have faculty and staff assist with various functions on June 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24,25, and 26.  Multiple volunteer opportunities exist throughout these days in different venues across of campus.

You can also sign-up to volunteer as:

Greeters, Parking Assistants, Directional Guides, and Information Guides.  (There is a specific need for volunteers as Informational Guides at Lee Hall and Palmieri Plaza.)

Please click on the link below to view the online sign-up sheet.

If you did not volunteer last year, please email Colin Coleman with your preferred shirt size.  If you did volunteer last year, we ask that you use the polo provided for you last year.

If you have any questions or concerns about signing-up or specific volunteer duties, please contact Colin Coleman ccolema4@umw.edu or Greta Franklin gfrankli@umw.edu.

Thank you in advance for supporting New Student Orientation.
