2014-15 Evaluations and 2015-16 EWP’s

From the Office of Human Resources.   Feel free to contact Terri Arthur at tlockhar@umw.edu or Jennifer Cooper at jcooper@umw.edu for assistance.

The 2014-2015 Classified Employee Evaluation period runs from August 10 to October 24, 2015.   The 2015-2016 Classified Employee Performance Management Cycle begins October 25, 2015.

Performance Evaluations and 2015-2016 Employee Work Profiles (EWP/Position Description) are due to the Office of Human Resources no later than October 23, 2015.

With the migration to the new Careers system, we made several changes and improvements to streamline and enhance Classified Employees work planning and performance evaluation.  Please refer to the Classified Employees Performance website for Information, forms and guidance on completing the Employee Work Profile and Performance Evaluation.

Beginning with this performance cycle we are using two new forms; a new Employee Work Profile form and a new Evaluation Form.

Changes to the Employee Work Profile (EWP)

  • The Employee Work Profile (Position Description) will be completed in the new Careers.
  • Special assignments will be incorporated within the Measures of the Core Responsibilities instead of listed in a separate section of the EWP.
  • Employee Development will be incorporated within the Measures of the Core Responsibilities on the EWP instead of listed in a separate section of the evaluation form.
  • The Confidentiality Statement is now included in the EWP instead of the Performance Evaluation Form.
  • New Performance Factor:  Executive Order 20 – If the employee has procurement responsibility, are procurement personnel, or are end users with a purchasing charge card they must be evaluated on small business purchasing goals as part of their performance evaluation.  The new performance factor described below will be included on the Work Profile. If applicable, you will evaluate Classified Employees accordingly when completing the 2015 – 2016 Performance Evaluation:

Diversity commitment also encompasses efforts to support supplier diversity through selection of certified small, woman-owned and minority owned firms for university business, if supplier selection is a job responsibility.

Changes to the Performance Evaluation Form

  • Employee Self-Assessment has been added to the overall Performance Evaluation Form instead of a separate document
  • The Confidentiality Statement is now included in the EWP instead of the Performance Evaluation Form.
  • Employee Development will be incorporated within the Measures of the Core Responsibilities on the EWP instead of listed in a separate section of the evaluation form.
