The following message is from the Office of Parking Management.
Greetings Campus Community-
Snow Emergency parking regulations will be put into place when there is a threat of snow, sleet, hail, freezing rain, or ice. Notification of a Snow Emergency declaration will be by email. During a campus snow emergency, no vehicles are allowed to remain in Snow Emergency Areas after the declaration begins.
During the emergency declaration there are three space designations: Group I lots are available to park vehicles. Group II lots follow advertised emergency shut down hours for opening and closing. Group III lots remain closed until notified. Please plan accordingly. All designated handicapped parking spaces, except those at Woodard Campus Center and the University Center, are exempt from Snow Emergency Regulations.
Group I-
The following lots remain available to park any UMW vehicle or stickered vehicles for faculty, staff and students. Please move these vehicles to the following locations prior to your campus departure:

Level #4 ALVEY Drive deck –ACCESS TO THE ALVEY DRIVE PARKING DECK WILL BE FROM THE SUNKEN ROAD GATE VIA WILLIAM STREET TO SUNKEN ROAD. THE SUNKEN ROAD GATE IS LOCATED ON SUNKEN ROAD BETWEEN GROVE AVENUE AND MADISON STREET.
Level #5 Eagle Landing deck
No student vehicles are to be parked in any Faculty/Staff parking lots. Any vehicle on University property interfering with snow removal operations is subject to towing at any time during the snow emergency declaration at the owner’s expense. This includes any UMW assigned Service/Pool Vehicles and golf carts/utility vehicles for all departments and contractor vehicles that are left unattended/overnight on campus.
In the case of public events, the lot in use for the public event will be closed as soon as the event concludes.
If you plan to travel, please consider the potential road conditions. Decisions regarding the status of the University – classes, events, etc. – will be announced under a separate email if needed.
Thank you for heeding this advice, and thanks in advance to our loyal Facilities Services crew who work extra hours to keep the campus safe during weather events.
