Sinuous Accord takes place Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hurley Convergence Center’s Digital Auditorium and features choreography by UMW Dance Faculty and Next Reflex Dance Collective’s Artistic Director Roxann Morgan Rowley and original musical composition and performance by UMW Music Faculty Mark Snyder.
Rowley and Snyder team up to present an evening of dance and music featuring dance performance by Next Reflex Dance Collective. This concert premiers Rowley and Snyder’s collaborative project “The INtimate Window” which is inspired by Michele Iversons’s photography series “Night Surveillance.” The choreography paints an intimate look at what we do when we think no one is watching. Original musical composition by Mark Snyder with live musical performance by Mark Snyder, Becky Brown, Austin O’Rourke, Kaylee Payne, Luke Payne and Zach Payne.
The concert also features Rowley’s choreography “On the Verge” with original musical composition and live performance by UMW Alumni Nate Masters and “Point,” with choreography by UMW Alumni Covenant Babatunde.
During the performance the audience is invited to get up close and personal as the work is presented in a nontraditional seating arrangement and audience members are invited to take pictures during the performance of our private, intimate moments. The audience is also invited to chat with the artists afterward in an intimate artistic conversation about process and collaboration.
