The following message is from the Office of Admissions:
On Nov. 10-11, the Admissions Office will host nearly 50 high school seniors overnight during Access UMW, a diversity focused open house. Students will be paired with a UMW student host for the event.
On Friday, Nov. 10, the overnight visit begins with a Welcoming Session at 11 a.m. in Lee Hall. Families of visiting students are then invited to attend an Admissions Office information session and campus tour and have lunch in the University Center before leaving campus that day. Prospective students will join their UMW student hosts and attend classes, dine in the University Center, and explore campus. Later that day, visiting students will participate in a variety of evening recreational activities. On Saturday, Nov. 11, visiting students and their families will participate in the open house.
We are looking for student volunteers to host visiting students on campus on Friday, Nov.10 until the morning of Saturday, Nov.11. The goal of this event is to recruit prospective high school seniors. If you love UMW, live on campus, and want to share what’s awesome about UMW, you would be a great host! If you are interested in this fun, dynamic event, please complete the application online at https://goo.gl/forms/qc4AOwVXgUawBYbW2; stop by the Admissions Office Welcome Center in Lee Hall, Room #301, or call 540-654-2000 for an application. We ask that you attend a brief training session at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 in Lee Hall #411. We look forward to hearing from you!
