Dear State Employees,
We have taken some significant strides together this year to make the Commonwealth a great place to work, where all of us have the tools, environment and support we need to excel. It is important to me, as a physician, that the Commonwealth helps you and your family members stay well.
I am delighted to announce the rollout of SmartShopper, a new health care shopping and savings program beginning October 1.
We are very excited to bring in SmartShopper as part of the Commonwealth of Virginia Care (COVA Care) and Commonwealth of Virginia High Deductible Health Plan (COVA HDHP). We chose SmartShopper because it has a proven track record and because it will save you money and help you earn cash when you and your family use your medical benefits. When you save money on medical care, the Commonwealth saves money too.
You will be hearing a lot more about SmartShopper after October 1, and I am confident that you are going to like what you hear. SmartShopper can save you money on medical procedures and tests, put cash in your pocket, and is a very simple shopping experience either over the phone or online.
