Celebrating – Tuesday, May 14 to Friday, May 17
Virginia Public Service Week is a specific time set aside to provide the opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the great work our employees do each and every day.
The week of May 5 to 11 is the OFFICIAL Virginia Public Service Week! However, we are going to celebrate a week later in hopes we will have more employees join in the festivities.

Tuesday, May 14
TRIVIA Tuesday – How much do you know about UMW? Try your hand at answering the VPSW Trivia questions. Participants will have the opportunity to win a prize!
Stafford Campus – ICE CREAM – HR will visit the Stafford Campus at 2:30 in the Atrium of the South Building for ice cream!
Wednesday, May 15, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Mary Wash Wednesday – dress in your very best UMW swag
Games with SAC & the Ribinator will be on campus – Come out to Ball Circle to enjoy some fun activities with SAC. Participants will have the opportunity to win a prize! The Ribinator Food Truck will be on campus parked near Virginia Residence Hall. Their average meal is $9. (Rain location for SAC Games: UC Living Room area)
Thursday, May 16, 1 to 3 p.m.
Splurge Thursday – Fredericksburg Campus – ICE CREAM! We will be at Ball Circle to hand out ice cream (Rain location: UC Living Room area)
Friday, May 17
Fan Friday – We are lucky to work with a wonderful bunch of colleagues. Take a few moments to tell the UMW community about someone who makes UMW extra special. Participants will have the opportunity to win a prize!
Mindfulness Class – 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Taught by Bill Brooks at the HCC Garden (front area near stairs). Learn about mindfulness and the benefits of practicing it. (Rain location: Team Room 6 in Goolrick Hall)
DAILY PRIZE DRAWINGS
Two lucky employees will be the daily winners of $25 prizes during VPSW. A random drawing will take place and the two winners will be notified by email.
