Be a Voter! Tuesday, Nov. 8 is Election Day

Be a voter! If you haven’t already voted, Tuesday Nov. 8th is the last chance to participate in this election.

On Election Day, polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visit the UMW Votes website to learn more about how to be #VoteReady.

As we prepare for Election Day, we wanted to make you aware of some opportunities:

  1. Rides to the Polls: UMW Votes will be providing rides to the polls in Fredericksburg from 11:00-3:00 on Election Day, Nov. 8th. Rides will leave from the Bell Tower. We will have the Fredericksburg Trolley on campus from 12:00-3:00 to provide rides to the polling place at Dorothy Hart Community Center.
  2. Info: You can find information about the location of your polling place online or stop by the UMW Votes info tables at the Bell Tower on Campus Walk from 11:00-3:00 on Election Day. Sample ballots for Fredericksburg will also be provided at the info tables. Tabling on Wampus Walk will include games, the FXBG Bookmobile and a t-shirt giveaway.
  3. Day on Democracy: Day on Democracy will be sponsoring several activities on Election Day, including:
      • Working with Tree Fredericksburg
      • Litter pick-up on campus
      • A keynote lecture by Assistant Professor of Political Science, Dr. Melissa Martinez. This will be made available online via the UMW Day on Democracy website on Nov. 8th.
      • A moderated roundtable with student leaders, held via Zoom. The link will be made available via the UMW Day on Democracy website.

Thank you for voting and being an active citizen!
