UMW’s fire alarm system will undergo maintenance and updates as part of the Police and Public Safety move to South Hall on Thursday, Nov. 17. Maintenance will be conducted on the fire alarm system on all three campuses (Fredericksburg, Stafford and Dahlgren) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 17. Even when the system is temporarily offline, the fire alarms will still work and activate in each building, but may not automatically report to UMW Police.
Should the fire alarm be activated in your building during this time, you must treat the alarm as an emergency. Please evacuate the building and call UMW Police at 540-654-4444 from any phone or 4444 from a campus phone. If you cannot contact UMW Police, dial 911. Please report that the fire alarm in your building has been activated and communicate the name of your building on campus.
