PageUp Performance Launch and Training Opportunities

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce the PageUp Performance Management system will launch tomorrow, and training opportunities start this week!

Please read below for further information; instructions for navigating the system are attached and include sample screen shots.

Training on the new system will be offered virtually on the dates listed below:

When the system launches, you will receive an email message like the example below:

 Hello Supervisor,     

Welcome to Sammy D. Eagle’s Performance Plan.

This is where you and Sammy will review the position description and will set performance objectives and goals/activities for the coming year. The process focuses on helping you set clear objectives for the coming year and provides the opportunity for two-way communication about Sammy’s position description, performance, goal setting, values, and professional development.  

Professional development helps employees continue to not only be competent in their profession, but also excel in it. Professional development should be an ongoing process that continues throughout an individual’s career. Consider their career objectives for the coming year.

What you need to do now:

Review, discuss, set, and agree upon Sammy’s position description and goals for the coming year.

After you and your employee meet, login to performance review and click the “I agree” button to move to the next step in the process.

What happens next:

After you and your employee meet, Sammy will receive an email to login to the performance review to complete their self-assessment. 

You will be notified in an email once this action is complete.

Emails will be sent following each completed step to alert the next person in the process they have a task due.

System Access: 

The PageUp Performance Management system is a separate URL from the PageUp Recruitment system.  You will use your UMW credentials to login.

Performance Cycle

A/P Faculty:  June 25 – June 24 the following year

Classified Staff:  October 25 – October 24 the following year

Evaluation Due Dates:

A/P Faculty – 2023-2024

History and Moving Forward

 A/P Faculty:

The Review period was completed late last year.  Supervisors were able to complete the review in Careers or via paper.

The 2023–2024 evaluation will be completed in PageUp.  Goals for the upcoming year will be entered in the 2024-2025 process.

Classified Staff:

We will launch the Classified Performance Management process in October.

We did not complete the evaluation for the 2022-2023 Review Cycle in Careers. Supervisors and employees may enter comments for 2022–2023 in the 2023–2024 process.

2023–2024 evaluations will be completed in PageUp.  Goals for the upcoming year will be entered in the 2024-2025 process.

Review Job Duties and agree on Goals for the upcoming year. Supervisor will confirm this meeting took place in the Next Step tab in the system. If you need to make changes to the Position Description, you must do this in the Position Description Module. Job Duties changed in the Performance Management module will not be saved.

Employee Completes Self-Assessment

Employee will add comments to the Goals, Job Duties and Performance Factor Tabs in the system. At a minimum, Employee must click on the Next Step button on the Next Step tab to acknowledge they had the option to complete a Self-Assessment.

Supervisor Completes Evaluation

Supervisor will rate and add comments to the Goals, Job Duties and Performance Factor Tabs in the system. Supervisor will complete this step by clicking on the Approve button on the Next Step tab in the system.

Reviewer Approves Evaluation

Reviewer (next level manager) will review the ratings and comments in the Goals, Job Duties and Performance Factor Tabs and add comments where they feel appropriate. Reviewer will complete this step by clicking on the Approve button on the Next Step tab in the system.

Supervisor and Employee Meet to Review Evaluation

Supervisor and Employee will meet to discuss the completed evaluation. Supervisor will confirm this meeting took place by clicking on the approve button in the Next Step tab in the system.

Employee Acknowledges Evaluation

Employee will review the ratings and comments in the Goals, Job Duties and Performance Factor Tabs and add comments. Employee will complete this step by clicking on the Approve button on the Next Step tab in the system.

Meeting to check in and discuss how the year is going so far. Supervisor will confirm this meeting took place in the Next Step tab in the system. This meeting will take place around January for AP and around April for Classified.
