The University of Mary Washington has once again been named in the top 100 Poets&Quants Best Undergraduate Business Schools, released March 23.
The 2026 list recognizes 110 universities based on admissions standards, academic experience and career outcomes, drawing on institutional data and alumni feedback. UMW’s placement at 84th reflects the strength of its academic curriculum, student experience and focus on preparing graduates for meaningful careers.
“This ranking is a testament to the success of our alumni and our rigorous curriculum, centered on experiential learning, entrepreneurial opportunities and strong regional workforce alignment,” said College of Business Dean Filiz Tabak. “Our students and graduates exemplify the liberal arts approach to business education during their time in our classrooms and throughout their careers.”
In the Poets&Quants methodology, rankings are based on multiple measures designed to capture both academic rigor and real‑world outcomes. Within these categories, academic experience and career outcomes come from surveys to recent graduates, with the Class of 2023 responding this year.
“We think two years after graduation is an ideal time to ask alumni to evaluate their programs because they’ve had ample time to gauge their degrees’ usefulness, but it’s not so long ago that they’ve forgotten the details of their experience,” the methodology states.
