Hello Faculty and Staff!
As we reach the end of the academic year, how about some fun?
Digital Learning Support invites you to the Fourth Annual Five Minutes of Fame!
This event is part of the May Teaching and Learning Days and we hope you will join us:
Wednesday, May 13
4 – 5 p.m.
Digital Auditorium @ HCC
Reception immediately follows in the HCC Garden until 6 p.m.
This lively end-of-the-academic-year celebration features your colleagues taking center stage for quick five-minute presentations, sharing innovative ideas, creative projects, and effective teaching practices they explored this year. And since five minutes can fly by, a gong will be standing by to help keep presenters to the time limit. This is a live, in-person event, so be in the room where it happens! And afterwards, join us in the Convergence Garden for a reception with drinks, snacks, and conversation.
To help us prepare, please register to attend.
Interested in presenting?
This is YOUR chance to share something you did this past year in or outside a classroom with a genuinely appreciative audience. Think of it as the opposite of a conference presentation.
A few things to know:
1) These are short, fun, informal presentations – this event takes a break from the serious.
2) DLS staff will help you prepare for your presentation.
3) The gong goes off at five minutes – you can design your presentation to stay under time and avoid the gong or go in with the intention of getting gonged!
Want to find out more about presenting?
Simply fill out our very short presenter interest form and DLS staff will follow up with more details before you need to commit to presenting. You can also email us at dls@umw.edu with any questions.
We hope to see you there — whether you’re presenting or cheering from the audience.
Thanks,
Jerry Slezak
