The parking lot repaving and restriping project continues this July, with the following schedule, dependent on weather. Rain or heat delays would shift the work to the next day, keeping the lot closed until the work is complete.
Signage for the parking areas will be posted the day prior, with plans that each area is closed at 4 p.m. the day before the work begins. All vehicles must be removed from the work area by the time of the closure. Pedestrian access will not be affected for the restriping projects.
- UMW Apartments (Lot 31) – July 17 – restriping
- CRUC Loop (Lot 3) – July 21 – restriping
- Combs Drive– July 28 – milling/repaving, with striping at a later date
- Sunken Road lot (Lot 11) – July 21-31 for milling/paving and restriping
- Woodard and Mercer Hall lot (Lot 14), July 28-31 – milling/paving and restriping
Parking for faculty and staff will remain available in all other designated faculty and staff lots.
Please note that access to the Sunken Road lots from Alvey Drive may be closed intermittently during the two weeks of paving work to the Sunken Road lot. If you need to access to Sunken Road lots, go to the Sunken Road gates when Alvey Drive is closed. The Alvey Deck remains open. Vehicles can park in the Alvey Deck throughout this period to avoid any of the parking lot closures.

As a reminder:
- Accessible parking spaces are available in all open lots to any vehicles with DMV-issued accessible placards or license plates.
