The Orientation team is seeking volunteers for its summer First-Year and Transfer Orientation sessions. This opportunity gives you the chance to welcome new students to UMW and introduce the celebrated Eagle culture!
Whether you’ve volunteered in the past or not, we welcome your help! Your involvement will greatly impact the incoming students and support the New Student Programs (NSP) team, as this time serves as a mid-summer touchpoint for incoming students.

Here’s where we need your help:
Below, you’ll see the dates of orientation for both First-Year and Transfer students. The volunteer role involves greeting and offering directions to students and their as they arrive and check in.
First-Year (FY) Dates (2-day, overnight experience):
June 10-11
June 15-16
June 17-18
June 23-24
June 25-26
You can find the specific times and locations where we need volunteers in the Sign Up Genius (also linked below). If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the volunteer sign-up form linked below ASAP, as Orientation begins early June. Assistant Director of New Student Programs Lillian Lester will follow up with additional details as the orientation dates approach.
