Walk the Wild Shore
Commonwealth of Virginia
Office of Governor Ralph S. Northam
August 29, 2018
Dear State Employees:
There is no place closer to my heart than the Eastern Shore, where I was raised. In my view, not only is it beautiful, but also a treasure to explore!
I am excited to announce a new challenge that your CommonHealth employee wellness program is launching in September. It’s called “Walk the Wild Shore” and is a virtual walk along the many scenic places on the Eastern Shore. You can watch my video here to learn more.
Marshes and wetlands, wild birds, butterflies and national reserves – our Eastern Shore has it all. I encourage you to sign up for the “Walk the Wild Shore” challenge by September 5. Then get ready for an adventure covering about 25 miles a week, not to mention a way to get healthier. More information may be found at www.dhrm.virginia.gov.
If you have questions, you can contact CommonHealth at wellness@dhrm.virginia.gov.
Enjoy the virtual walk and thanks for all you do for the Commonwealth.
Sincerely,
Ralph S. Northam
