Students, Faculty and Staff returning from the Thanksgiving holiday will find the University of Mary Washington fighting Eagle athletics mascot logo all along College Avenue between Route 1 and Williams Street. The logos were applied during the weekend. The proposal for the new campus area markings was initiated by the Student Government Association two years ago as a symbol of school spirit and pride in UMW athletics. The proposal was discussed with the Town and Gown committee, approved by the City of Fredericksburg, and endorsed by the current SGA.
